Demag Hamilton starts year strongly

Monday, 6 April 2009

Demag Hamilton has bucked the trend and started 2009 with a real bang. The first 6 weeks of this year has produced an order book of almost €1.4million, with a total of 9 machines sold. A significant part of this success was provided by sales of 7 Sumitomo full electric machines into the UK and Eire, the first Japanese machines sold by Demag Hamilton since the acquisition of Demag Plastics Group by Sumitomo Heavy Industries in 2008.

Despite the current state of the economy, Demag Hamilton continues to build on its sound financial base, and we are pleased to announce that we have expanded our sales team to 5, with Ted Waller rejoining the sales team in January. Ted will be responsible for the Central Sales Region, which will allow Alan Bennett to focus on Key Accounts and New Business and providing sales support to Eire.

The addition of Sumitomo product range has created a raft of opportunities for Demag Hamilton, and with the launch this month of the IntElect Smart the entry level full electric machine, equipped with Demag control, clamp unit and machine frame but with Sumitomo air-cooled direct drives, Demag Hamilton is confident that it has the strongest product range ever.

The IntElect Smart is designed to meet the needs of customers who are looking for the precision and energy saving of a full electric machine, but do not require the higher levels of flexibility and all out speed of the IntElect Performance. Demag Hamilton is confident that the combination of the Demag and Sumitomo technologies will deliver unique benefits to customers, in terms of energy saving, reliability, ease of use, repeatability and precision.
